Stacy Foster joined Fire-Dex in June of 1998 as a Sewer on the Liners team. She worked up to Production Supervisor and eventually became responsible for all Fire-Dex product changes. Stacy was promoted to Assistant Product Manager in January of 2016. We recently sat down with Stacy to catch up. Read and enjoy!
What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of work?
I gave two presentations at work this week and didn't pass out from nerves! It does help when you have a handsome model standing next to you to model your projects. Maybe that was the key to my presentation success?
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Hands down Topsail Island for sure. There is nothing like waking up to the ocean every morning but the best part was having the opportunity to spend the day on the ocean to catch the biggest fish ever!
What is the one thing you wish you’d known 20 years ago?
STRUGGLE IS GOOD.
What are 3 things people don’t know about you and may be surprised to learn?
I want to learn to shoot a rifle and hunt.
I wanted to be a model when I grew up.
I spelled my name wrong until I was 8 years old.
What is your favorite app?
Snapchat for sure. With as many selfies as I take of myself, Snapchat takes selfies to a whole other level. Who doesn't love the dog ears?

GROWTH!

What do you love most about your job?
I have been here 19 years and love the fact that I have had the opportunity to do many different jobs and have been able to grow with the company. It does help that I have some awesome co-workers that I can call my best friends!
What one device can you not live without?
My flat iron for sure. This hair is a hot mess if it isn't tamed down with a flat iron. You thought I was going to say my iPhone - HA!
If you were stranded on an island and could only have THREE things, what would they be?
My three kids - Nevin (17 yrs.) Kyleigh (13 yrs.) and Kellin (7 years).
What career advice would you give to new college grads or other jobseekers seeking their first career gig?
Don't let your nerves hold you back.
