Medina, Ohio –June 22, 2018 – Surrounded by city officials, community supporters, associates and business partners, Fire-Dex celebrated its 35th anniversary by revealing its completed 29,000 square foot headquarters expansion on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
The festivities included a ceremonial ribbon cutting, facility tours, a community luncheon and speeches from Mayor Dennis Hanwell; Kimberly Marshall, Economic Development Director; Caryn Candisky, Northeast Ohio District Director for Senator Rob Portman; Beth Thames, Deputy State Director Senator for Sherrod Brown; Christina Trompower, Community Relations Director for Congressman Jim Renacci; and Stephen Hambley, Ohio’s State Representative.
“Expansion is often viewed as an indicator of success,” describes Jenny McPherson, Marketing Manager, “For Fire-Dex, it symbolizes the ability to make an even greater impact on firefighter safety and wellness around the world.”
The expansion, which broke ground in October 2017, is located at 150 South Progress Drive, Medina, Ohio and includes new offices, a dining hall, on-site training facility, two additional truck bays, expanded warehouse, and a larger shop floor.
“With this facility expansion, Fire-Dex can provide even more for our customers,” says Steve Allison, President. “We appreciate the support of our dealer and fire department customers worldwide. They are a key to our success.”
This milestone of achievement will not only reach firefighters, but will also benefit Fire-Dex distributors, suppliers and the local community. It is estimated that the expansion will develop 30 new jobs over the next 3 years for the City of Medina.
