Jordan Smitek joined Fire-Dex in July of 2018 as a Sales Manager Trainee. She will be training in different departments at Fire-Dex for her first two years, then will take over a territory as a Regional Sales Manager. Get to know more about Jordan and her hobbies in our Q&A!
What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of work?
I went to the casino this weekend and won for the first time ever!
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
What was the first concert you ever attended?
My first concert was Genesis. Needless to say Phil Collins sparked my love for live music.
What TV show are you embarrassed to admit that you watch?
I have recently been binge watching 20/20.
What is the one thing you wish you’d known 20 years ago?
I wish someone would have told my 3 year old self to invest all of my 3 year old money into Apple stock.
If you were a baseball player, what song would you walk out to?
My walk out song would be It's Tricky by Run-DMC.
What are 3 things people don’t know about you and may be surprised to learn?
- I am obsessed with sports. I grew up watching ESPN every morning and have loved sports ever since.
- I have never been pulled over before (knock on wood).
- I am fascinated by true crime and love watching documentaries or listening to podcasts about murder.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
My favorite movie is Four Christmases. I have seen it so many times and Vince Vaughn always cracks me up.
What are you most excited for Fire-Dex in 2019?
I am really excited to watch Fire-Dex continue to grow. I haven't been working here that long and I can already see it, so it will be exciting to see how it continues in the future.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the people that I work with and getting to constantly learn new things. I am learning something new every single day which is really exciting.

If you were stranded on an island and could only have THREE things, what would they be?

What career advice would you give to new college grads or other job seekers seeking their first career gig?
I would tell them to go on as many interviews as they can. Not only is it a great learning experience, but you really get a feel for the type of company that is the best fit for you.
