Get to Know Misty!

Misty previously worked at Darwood Manufacturing when we acquired the business as a second manufacturing location in Pelham, Georgia. As our Office Manager, she oversees shipping and receiving while supervising the production planning for our TECGEN51 Fatigues. Misty has been an integral part of our Fire-Dex Family since June 2018. 

What is the coolest thing about your job and why?

I think the greatest thing about my job is knowing the impact it has on the lives of the men and women that Fire-Dex serves. I have several family members and friends that are firefighters and first responders. To know that I work for a company that puts those men and women first creates a passion for what I do when I come to work each day. ♥️

What is your #1 recommended TV Show or movie?

I would recommend "Vikings" TV show.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

I think the best advice I have ever received would be "Don't let your circumstances be bigger than your prayers". 

What's the craziest thing you've ever done? 

I think the craziest thing I have done would be the time I went bungee jumping!

What's your favorite family tradition? 

Since my children were born, every year I have bought them a Christmas ornament the day after Thanksgiving. My kids thought that I was at the North Pole visiting Santa with their list (even though Mama was just shopping). I would make sure that when I came home there was a small gift from Santa. It was wrapped and would be their ornament for the year. The ornament would always be related to something they had done or loved through the year. Even now, as they are older and know that I am not at the North Pole, they still get their ornament. I love putting up my Christmas tree and seeing each ornament that tells the story of my kids. 🎅

How do you relax in the evenings or on the weekends?

When I get a chance to relax it is usually curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee. I am currently reading "The Shining" by Stephen King. 📖☕

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? 

If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life I would have to eat grilled Steak and Mushrooms, green beans, and of course we can't forget the French fries! 

If you were a baseball player, what song would you walk out to?

How would your friends describe you? 

My friends would say that I am a handful. I enjoy spending time with my friends and making them laugh until we cry. They also know that I am just a phone call away when they need anything. 

What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics? 

400 meter freestyle swimming 🏊

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be? 

Calligraphy. There is something amazing about seeing written language. Some technological advances have taken away the love on hand written letters and stories.
