Get to Know Selena! 

Selena joined the Fire-Dex Family in April 2023 as Human Resources (HR) Specialist. As an HR Specialist, she is responsible for processing new hires, HR compliance, coordinating benefits, and assisting with HRIS data management. Selena has worked in HR for 3 years and previously worked at a non-profit. 

What excites you the most about working for Fire-Dex? 

Our mission and being able to give back to first responders.

How are you solving for the customer?

Figuring out the most efficient way to track time and attendance for both supervisors and associates, while utilizing the technology and resources we currently have. 

What are 3 things people don't know about you and may be surprised to learn?

1. I love scary movies. 😱
2. I prefer colder weather. 
3. I would love to move to West Virginia or Tennessee if I had the chance. 

Where have you travelled for the first time recently and what did you think? 

Mohican State Park. My friends and I went tubing for about 5 hours and it was very relaxing. I was surprised how close it was to home. I would definitely go again. 

What is the #1 binge-worthy TV show or movie you always recommend? 

SWAT 

What's your favorite caffeinated beverage to keep you energized? Coffee? Tea? Soda? 

Carmel iced coffee from Dunkin. 

Are you an early bird or a night owl? 

What is your favorite way of relaxing on the weekends or evening? 

A relaxing weekend for me would be going to the gym, completing a few chores/errands, and then coming home and watching a random show on Netflix for the rest of the night. 

Have you ever met a celebrity? If so, who? 

LeBron James and his wife. 🏀

What's something you want to do next year that you've never done before? 

Travel to Montana. 

If you could learn a new skill in an instant, what would it be? 

Softball. 

What's your favorite family tradition?

My grandmother's Puerto Rican food on Christmas.

Imagine that you're a time traveler that can go any place and time in history. Where/when would you explore first? 

When I was a kid and all of my loved ones were still here. 🎇 We used to go to West Virginia every 4th of July and it's some of my best memories.
